Ski Package and Vallecito Huts stay Drawing December 17, 2026

Drawing for a high-end nordic Ski Package donated by Pine Needle Mountaineering (Thank you Jeremy, Ashley and Esther). and seperately a 2-night stay at Vallecito Huts at the north end of our ski trails.Winner will be notified on December 18. Joining Vallecito Nordic at the $75 or $100 level gives you one drawing ticket. You can obtain up to 7 more (8 total) if you join AND make a donation to our Snow Rabbit 3 fund or our general fund. You receive an extra ticket for every $50 you donate. You can join or make donations on our Membership page ( LINK to Membership) . You need to join and make donation by December 17th to be included in the drawing.

DEMO DAY

DEMO DAY & Free SKI CLINIC

  • Sunday, January 25th, 2026

  • 10:00 AM 3:00 PM

  • - note - last lesson at 2pm, Demo equipment must be turned in by 3pm.

Demo Days: Local shops (Pine Needle Mountaineering, Back Country Experience and Representatives from Fischer, will have equipment to try for no charge. VNC will offer ski lessons/clinics in both skating and classic skiing to anyone interested.. We haven’t confirmed, but hope that Rossignol and Salomon ski reps will also participate.

Bring your Driver’s Licence to the Vallecito Nordic Club checkin table to leave as collateral while you try out equipment - don’t leave it in your cart and have to hike back to get it!!

PRID Day-Use Permit:

Nordic Ski Clinic

Free Skate and/or Classic Ski Clinic!

  • Saturday, February 14, 2026. A gift to you from our club -for Valentines’ Day!

  • Lessons start at 10:30 AM and 2:00 PM

VNC will offer ski lessons in both skating and classic skiing at 11 am and 1 pm. Meet at Madden Corners (about 400 yards downhill from the trailhead) about 10 to 15 minutes before the lesson time to find the group you are interested in. We will have classic, intro skate and intermediate skate classes. We will also have cookies!

Skiers must provide their own equipment. HOWEVER, Pine Needle Mountaineering and Backcountry Experience are offering free rentals for people taking lessons. This is on a first-come first-served basis starting 3:00 pm Friday. Equipment must be returned Saturday afternoon or early Sunday, or you can pay to rent and practice your new skills on Sunday!
